Thank you for your consideration as I run for the position of MAPA President Elect. Over the last 6-7 years which I have served on the MAPA board as Leadership Development Chair, I have become keenly aware of the hard work and dedication of the past presidents and leaders before me. I have developed a passion for promoting the PA profession, its team-based focus, and value of quality care to patients. As our environment continues to change and the number or PAs grows, I am committed using my leadership and positive team building skills to maintain and improve the kind of practice we all have come to enjoy.

Number of Years as a MAPA Member: 30

STATEMENT OF INTEREST:I have been MAPA's treasurer for the past six years. I am interested in continuing this position because I have knowledge of the past and current financial workings of MAPA. MAPA has recently changed accounting methods, which was an important update that needed to be done. This was just finished this month. I feel I have a good working relationship with our controller and our accounting company as well. I think fiscal responsibility is very important in this time of increasing expenses. I would like to continue to be a part of the team that thinks creatively to increase sources of revenue so we can continue to provide services to our members and promote the PA profession.

The House of Delegates (HOD) is the place for PAs across the nation to openly discuss matters that affect our profession. I have been privileged to represent MAPA in the house for 6 years. As President of MAPA for the last year I have gained additional insight into the numerous aspects of the business and politics of medicine that have significant impact, both in positive and negative ways upon our profession. As a practicing PA for 17 years I have the perspective of first line patient care experience, and as a current PA educator I am in-tuned to the excitement and potential of the future PAs joining us. I hope to be able to continue utilizing these experiences to continue representing Minnesota PAs at the national level, as well as continuing advocacy here at home, at this important time in our professional growth. I would appreciate your vote for MN Delegate to the AAPA HOD.

Respectfully, Leslie Milteer PA-C, MPAS

Elizabeth A. Hoffman, PA-C, MPAS I have been a licensed Physician Assistant in Minnesota since 2002 when I graduated from Augsburg Physician Assistant Program, and have practiced throughout my career in cardiology. For the past eight years, I have specialized in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Minneapolis Heart Institute, a division of Allina Health. At the Heart Institute, I have consistently worked to expand the reach of Advanced Practice Providers. To that end, I co-founded an Advanced Practice Provider Cardioversion Program for patients with atrial arrhythmias and am currently one of two APPs with privileges to perform implantable loop recorder procedures. I am a former member of the Allina Public Policy Institute and participated in a National Cardiovascular Leadership Forum . In addition, I have been both a community and national presenter for the American College of Cardiology and Cardiosmart, the patient education arm of the ACC. I am currently serving on the Allina Health Policy Advisory Panel, an internal think tank assisting in developing the policy agenda and providing strategic guidance to executive leadership of Allina. In September, 2015, I applied to and was accepted as a Humphrey Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota. This Fellowship has opened my eyes to the importance of leadership and service which has led to my interest in becoming involved in our professional organization. Our profession continues to evolve and we are facing significant changes and challenges. I believe I would be an excellent addition to the MAPA leadership team as we navigate these exciting and dynamic times.
