Awarded annually to qualifying Minnesota PAs selected by the MAPA Awards and Leadership Development committees based on specific criteria and after review of the applicant’s essay. While applications are closed for 2026 stay tuned for 2027 applications coming in late summer.
MAPA Scholarship for AAPA Executive Leadership Conference
To encourage MAPA members interested in pursuing leadership roles in their respective health system, as well as within state or national-level organizations, to develop those skills necessary to be successful and to promote the PA profession.
Additional Benefits and Responsibilities of Selected Recipients:Through this scholarship, we hope to advance opportunities to broaden PA influence within healthcare systems and other organizations. Recipients are expected to share knowledge gained from this conference with MAPA and its members. The scholarship recipient is highly encouraged to serve as a volunteer on a MAPA committee of their choosing or offer a lecture at the annual MAPA CME event. By sharing new knowledge and becoming more involved in MAPA, the recipient will benefit from opportunities for collaboration, networking, and mentorship from PA leaders within the organization and state.
Rising MAPA Leaders Scholarship for AAPA Executive Leadership Conference
To encourage PAs interested in pursuing leadership roles within MAPA to develop those skills necessary to contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the organization, while advancing MAPA’s mission.
Eligibility Criteria:To be considered, applicants should have demonstrated commitment to MAPA and be currently actively involved in MAPA (such as a committee member, chair or co-chair, or board member).
Additional Benefits and Responsibilities of Selected Recipients:Through this scholarship, we hope to invest in future MAPA leaders to be better equipped to meet the ever-changing needs of our organization and the communities we serve. In addition to providing funding to attend the conference, scholarship recipients will be given opportunities for networking and mentorship with other PA leaders. Recipients are expected to share knowledge gained from this conference with MAPA and its members. The scholarship recipient is highly encouraged to provide a formal presentation at MAPA Board Leadership retreat and to participate in social media efforts to share their experiences and encourage future MAPA leaders.

Amount: To be determined. In 2026, each scholarship was $900 as a partial offset of the cost of registration
Conference Info: The 2027 AAPA Executive Leadership Conference will be held March 1 – 3, 2027 in Palm Springs, CA.
Timeframe: Stay tuned for the 2027 scholarship applications opening late summer 2026.
