About MAPA

Our Mission

The mission of the Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants is to promote the professional and personal development of Minnesota PAs, through representation at the local, state, and national levels, advocacy, educational opportunities, and public relations, with the goal to promote quality, cost effective, accessible health care for every person.

Our Vision

To provide the general membership of the Academy with a forum for formal assembly regarding the issues that relate to physician assistants of Minnesota.


To facilitate mutual assistance and support of physician assistants, health professionals, and health services by organizing and disseminating health care information through forums, panels, and other similar programs concerning the delivery and quality of health care services within Minnesota.

Leadership and Advocacy for the PA Profession:

  • Supporting and Optimizing PA Practice through legislative strategic planning and lobbying -  PA Day on the Hill

  • Bi-monthly imPAct newsletter - a compilation of academy news, PA program updates, articles of interest and industry insights

Face to Face Meetings and Networking:

Inside MAPA

Strategic direction is provided by both the Executive Board and Board of Directors. MAPA's standing committees are key to developing initiatives and carrying out strategic goals. The Executive Director, professional staff, who supports the organization and fulfills the day to day management responsibilities.




More than 900 peers have derived value from MAPA, including practicing PAs, PA Program faculty, affiliates, PA students as well as pre-PA students.
