COVID-19 Update and Resources

Thank you for your dedication to caring for patients in Minnesota during this difficult and chaotic time. While you may be overwhelmed by the information shared by your Health Care Organization, other Minnesota PAs are not attached or working for large organizations.

Let us know if you are having any difficulty or limitations in your ability to volunteer to meet the needs you are qualified to assist, or questions about how to overcome road blocks to improve PA effectiveness in assisting.

In an effort to keep all informed of the latest changes on COVID-19, we are providing you the following resources:

  • Announcement from AAPA's partner, CM&F Group, regarding liability insurance:

PA Students & Recent Graduates who are NOT YET LICENSED and authorized to provide care relating to the Coronavirus Pandemic can secure $1,000,000 in Liability Insurance through our partner CM&F Group. This coverage is offered as a student member benefit for FREE and designed to protect students against liability lawsuits.

The insurance is available to secure at (AAPA / CM&F Landing Page) and as always you can contact CM&F directly at 1-800-221-4904 or info@cmfgroup.com with questions. Please note that if you are a licensed PA this "Student" coverage is not available. Full Time Liability Insurance protection must be purchased at www.cmfgroup.com

If you have questions, please connect directly with CM&F Group at 1-800-221-4904 or info@cmfgroup.com.

MAPA is working to decrease the physician burden of supervision and allow for PA to be a more flexible resource in the care of patients in Minnesota during national and state disasters in addition to the every-day disasters that occur in your local communities.

We greatly appreciate your service to residents of Minnesota and the surrounding area from the worried well, routine care, acute medical concerns and others acutely ill with concerning symptoms during this pandemic. Please remember to communicate with your local Health System, if you have been exposed to COVID-19, have symptoms, or if you have traveled through high risk states or countries.

Be Safe and Well,
