The greatest MAPA member benefit is its advocacy to protect and promote PA practice in Minnesota. The more MAPA members we have, the better job we can do on your behalf.

RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP

After signing into the MAPA website*:

  • Navigate to Membership Info in the My Profile right hand menu
  • Go to Securely renew your membership now
  • Here you will see your personal membership dues invoice that may be paid online
  • Don't forget to update your member profile as needed
  • Consider signing up for Auto-Renewal - Option available on the payment screen

NEW MEMBERS

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

 

Fellow: $150 annual dues

  • Fellow members have the privilege of the floor, holding office and voting on MAPA  and AAPA issues
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited PA program, or an NCCPA-certified PA
  • Must be a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants in good standing
  • Will be required to provide AAPA Id Number

Sustaining: $150 annual dues

  • Member would be eligible for fellow membership but either is not practicing in the profession or is not a fellow member of the AAPA
  • Sustaining members have the privilege of the floor and may vote on MAPA issues, or be committee chairs. They may not vote on AAPA issues or hold office.

Affiliate: $100 annual dues

  • Member who is ineligible for the Fellow or Sustaining categories and still wishes to associate with the organization and is approved by the Board of Directors
  • Affiliate membership is not open to vendors who sell products or services
  • Affiliate members shall be entitled to the privilege of the floor but shall not be entitled to vote or hold office.

Retired PA: $50 annual dues

  • A retired member must have been a member in good standing of the Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants for a minimum of five years (not necessarily in succession and not necessarily the last five years)
  • A retired member must be fully retired from gainful employment as a PA
  • Retired members shall be entitled to the privilege of the floor and may vote on MAPA issues but cannot hold elected office
  • Retired members may be committee chairs

New Graduate: $75 first year

  • A New Graduate of an accredited PA program, or an NCCPA-certified PA, is eligible for a 50% discount on a Fellow or Sustaining membership during the first year after graduation (to take the Fellow membership, the new grad must also be a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants in good standing)

PA Student: $50  

  • One-time fee for as long as you are enrolled in an accredited PA program
  • A student is enrolled in an accredited PA program or an unaccredited program that is recognized by the AAPA
  • Student members have the privilege of the floor, but may not vote or hold office except those considered Student Representative in the Student Caucus
  • Student Representatives are elected by their classmates and enjoy all rights and privileges, including formal vote, except in matters relating to AAPA

Pre-PA Student: $45

  • A Pre-PA Student is a person interested in the Physician Assistant profession and not yet enrolled in an accredited PS Program 
  • Dues for MAPA Pre-PA student membership is valid for "up to" four years or until enrollment in a PA program, at which point you will become eligible for the PA Student membership status.  
  • Pre-PA Student Members shall receive publications and discounts, may serve on a committee but not chair a committee
